Why offer chapter-by-chapter evaluations and instruction?
When I was looking for someone to help me with my writing, I found a few people who offered evaluations at $1200 and more. The trouble was, I didn’t have the money and my manuscript wasn’t complete. Most of all, I didn’t want to keep writing if I was making mistakes. This is why I offer evaluations one chapter at a time. You can work through a whole novel or just send the first few chapters until you feel comfortable with your style or plotline.
Sometimes you talk about my characters or dialogue and other times plot or description. Do you choose only one or two topics to evaluate?
I look at all the areas listed on the Writer Coaching page. Sometimes your chapter might need more work in one area or another - and if you’ve sent several chapters to me, we might want to look at new skills while you work on others. This saves repetition. Don’t worry - if I see you’re having a problem, I’ll point it out!
I’ve reworked the chapter you helped me with, but I think I need another look at it. Do I have to pay for another evaluation?
Clients who’ve sent me at least two chapters have the opportunity of sending me one re-worked chapter of their choice for each additional submission, free of charge. This little bonus helps you keep your enthusiasm going and your writing on track. [Not available with special offers.]
I’m having trouble with the tracking feature in MS Word and can’t see your notes. What can I do?
Send me a quick e-mail to let me know. I can create a PDF of the Word file to let you see the changes - though you won’t be able to rework them straight from that file.
Send me a note with your questions and comments! I love to hear from you.
